Quack or Qualified Doctor?

Allegations of being unqualified doctor didn’t stop Ronald Melly from receiving heroic welcome back in his Tinderet home.  This was after Ronald was discovered to be somewhat a fake doctor. The county health chief officer, Edward Serem submitted the report including the names of the patients who underwent operations performed by the doctor.  Initially, Ronald had carried out 9 surgeries and 8 of them being successful.  “During surgery he and a group of other doctors carried out, the patient who was then expectant, died because she was on stage 4 of the complication but they managed to save the baby,” said Serem. The unsuccessful operation occurred between 5th of June and July 14th.

The governor of Nandi County, Cleophas Lagat said that the county only received doctors seconded by the national government. “I have never seen the fake doctor and the public should not blame the county government since the doctors are employed by the parent ministry.  I have directed that health staff working in the county be vetted,” Said Mr Lagat. The assembly directed the vetting of all staff.

Daniel Tuwei confirmed that his nephew Ronald went to Tinderet Boys Secondary school and attained a mean grade of C-. Also his people are not aware that he is a “doctor”

“The young man went to Tinderet Boys Secondary school and got a C- and went to the city to look for a job,” said his uncle.

Health committee chaired by Nobert Maiyo called on the government to train Ronald and allow him to continue with his work.

Is Ronald Melly a fake doctor or a qualified doctor?  I don’t know.
