“It is with profound sorrow that I announce the passing of a Great African Statesman” said President Kenyatta.
The 2nd President of Kenya was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital in October 2019 where he was put in life support. At 5:20 Am, former president Moi took his last breath at the Nairobi Hospital.
The body was later taken to Lee funeral home.
In his proclamation, President Uhuru ordered a period of national mourning until the former president Moi’s body is laid to rest.
The former president will be accorded a state funeral with all appropriate civilians with full military honors being rendered and observed.
As an expression of public sorrow, the Kenyan flag will be flown at half-mast in all government institutions including those abroad.
The late president Moi married his wife Lena Moi and were blessed with eight children: The late Jonathan Kipkemboi, Gideon Moi, Phillip Moi, Raymond Moi, John Mark Moi, Jenifer Jemutai Kositany, June Moi and Doris Moi_
Love conquers all. The late President wishes to be buried in his kabarak home next to his ex-wife, Lena Moi.
