Mugabe’s Family and Burial

It was indeed a sad Friday for Zimbabwe nation following the demise of its ex-president Robert Mugabe.

“It is with the utmost sadness that that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe’s founder father and former president Cde Robert Mugabe,” read President Mnangagwa’s tweet. Robert Mugabe has left behind a beautiful widow and three children.

Grace Mugabe, popularly known as Gucci Grace following her flamboyance is the widow to the ex-president of Zimbabwe.  Grace was born on the 23rd of July in Benon, South Africa and is a citizen of Zimbabwe. She is the second wife of the late Robert Mugabe. She got married to the former president of Zimbabwe in 1996 after the demise of Mugabe’s first wife, Sarah Francesca Mugabe.  She is a mother of three of Mugabe’s children, Bona Mugabe, Bellermine Chatunga and Robert Mugabe Junior. She had a son with Stanley Goreraza, a pilot who she was married to before tieing the knot with the late ex-president. Russell Goreraza is her son with Stanley Goreraza.  She got the name “Gucci” from her fashionable lifestyle which inspired one of her sons.

Berlamine Chatunga, Mugabe’s third child owns butchery. However, he has then received criticism of his lifestyle.

The Zimbabwe leader’s body was reported to arrive in Zimbabwe from Singapore by Wednesday.  His place of burial is yet to be confirmed. Mnangagwa would love it if the former president of Zimbabwe was buried in the National Heroes Acre. The family of Robert Mugabe has also stated that their late beloved made it clear that when he dies his body be laid to rest in his home in Zvimba.  Robert Mugabe died at the age of 95.
